One More

Just the top. The skirt I made a couple of months ago.

I wanted another top to wear with this skirt that only involved one layer. While I love the top I originally made to wear with this skirt, I do have to wear a cami with it and that gets a little warm in our summer temps.

However … I don't love this new top. Well, more precisely, I don't love the aqua fabric. It's too thin and clingy, I think. But I'll see if it grows on me over the next few days. If not, it will be a PJ top or it will go into the donate pile, and I'll be on the lookout again for another fabric for a plain aqua tee.

I topstitched all over with brown thread in my coverstitch machine and I trimmed the neckline and sleeves with a brown knit. I "borrowed" these sleeves from the 02/2007 Ottobre Woman pattern magazine, and I do like them with this Burda top.

  1. Pity about the fabric as it looks nice. Hopefully the magic wardrobe will do the trick. I'm currently refashioning a top in the same colour fabric. It's also too clingy. While the magic wardrobe didn't fix it, it did tell me how I can fix it myself. :)

  2. Debbie, when you get bored with sewing for yourself or you run out of room in your wardrobes, can you sew a few things for me? ;-)
I just want to get away from this computer and behind the sewing machine... One day!
    Lovely things as usual!

  4. I like this top a lot. Can you show the trim up close? I see that you bound the neckline, but is that what you did on the sleeve hems? Which pattern is the skirt? It looks great with the top. Hopefully it will grow on you. It looks great on the mannequin.

  7. I'm sorry you don't like the fabric ~ can totally understand that! But this is a great looking outfit. And you are cranking them out. You are going to look great at the dog part, the supermarket, Joanns...

  8. Debbie the top look great with that skirt (I still have pattern envy for that one!). Anyway - I know what you mean about not loving it. Hopefully the magic wardrobe will work - if not - send it this way :) g

  9. Hi, Debbie! I've been lurking around your blog for a few months now-- I enjoy following your sewing adventures, and you offer such great tips! Anyway-- I really love the look of this top with the cute tie and gathers in front. Did you use a particular pattern, or is it another variation of one of your TNT tops?

Thank you for each and every comment. I appreciate them all, but I have to be honest and let you know that I'm usually bad about answering questions. I hope you understand that there just isn't enough time in the day to do everything I want to do.
