Drive-By Post

Still alive, yes. Not much sewing or quilting going on since work has been busy. It's calming down now but I need to find the mojo.

Just got this text from DS#2:

"stop sending me message's with a bunch of questions. No more than two"

Does that crack anyone else up as much as it does me? I think that's got to be a male thing. He can't handle more than 2 questions at a time. (We definitely need to work on punctuation, I see.)

And yes, I'm a bad mother … texting my son while he's at school. But hey, it's not like he doesn't already spend half the day texting his girlfriend, right?

Yeah, I know. But I've always been a rule-breaker. ;-)

Oh, and for the record — the text he was replying to had 3 questions. One over his limit, I guess.

  2. Ha ha ha. That is hilarious. I receive similar texts from my DS and they do text during school even though they are not supposed to. I can prove it - I pay the cell phone bill. :)

  3. I think it's a hoot. I love the lack of courtesy that only a young man can display. My DS, age 38 yet, recently let me know in no uncertain terms that it bugs him when I leave a phone message and don't say why I'm calling. It never ends. We moms just can't ever seem to get it right.

  4. Don't you just love those messages? They crack me up, too. (I sometimes wonder if my guys slept through English class!) Yep, I believe that it is a male thing.

  6. No more than 2 questions - that's funny. I've always said, "If we weren't responsible for how our kids turned out, they'd be hilarious!" OP Gal's son is funny, too!

  7. I bet he could never handle more than two instructions when he was younger either.

I do understand the poor punctuation in text messages though. It takes too much time to search for the extra characters that are so easy with a regular keyboard. Don't ever grade text punctuation or spelling.

  8. hilarious and exactly the sort of thing my stepson would say. I guess it's male thing ;)

  9. I'm totally cracking up. My little (25 yo) brother is getting married in a few months. And of course, I have tons of questions all the time. I find if I have more than 2 questions to ask in an email, I number them so he can keep up and doesn't ignore any. Boys are boys. Good luck with the mojo :)

  10. hahah I'm on the side of your son, I'm afraid, though. My Dad has an awful habit of sending me long email that are 95% questions, one right after the other. Seriously, like 25 questions in a row. It drives me up the wall and I just hit delete. I figure if I don't reply to those, then maybe over time he'll get the hint...

  11. yes I'm LOL!
I also text my kids when they're at school, AND when they're at work. And yes, my dds and I are always amused by dh who not only can't multi-task, but actually criticises us for doing so! insert rolling eyes.

  12. Males can only work on one task at a time. That is a proven fact!

  13. Did you ever try to send him to the store for more than 3 items? My 25 year old has a meltdown over that.

  14. Oh, my son doesn't care how many questions I ask. He just answers the one he likes best, and ignores the rest! LOL

  15. At least he answered. My brother just ignores the questions!! My kids are little and offer up the answers before I can even ask them!!

  16. LOL.... Are you sure you haven't been texting my little brother by mistake? That's the same thing he says, if he bothers to text back. :)

  17. Does yours just answer "k"? Not even a complete word? Gotta love teenage boys.

Hubby will not carry a cell phone. Boys are always with him because he teaches at their school. I have to go thru them to get to hubby. Very frustrating!

Thank you for each and every comment. I appreciate them all, but I have to be honest and let you know that I'm usually bad about answering questions. I hope you understand that there just isn't enough time in the day to do everything I want to do.
