Butterick 5488: One More Time

This is what my top looked like yesterday. Can't exactly wear it like that. ;-)

But as of 10 minutes ago, I had a complete top.

It was actually done about an hour ago but I kept looking at it, thinking it needed *something.* So I cut a strip, gathered it, and pinned it around the neckband to see if I liked it. I did, so I stitched it down. Raw edges, 5 minutes, done.

My white capris are fresh out of the dryer and waiting. I have a number of errands to run tomorrow and it will be nice to wear something new while I'm out and about.

  1. I like the ruffle detail, it's pretty. Do you happen to remember where you bought the green knit you used? I'm always looking for unique knits.

  8. I'm new to your blog, and apparel sewing. What kind of knit fabric is the shirt made of? I've been looking at knits on the web and there's so many types I think I need a class on it! (I too shop at Fabric.com) thanks for your time.

  13. You will have to forgive me, in my broswer page it reads: This is what my top looked like and the first pic. I looked at the top and mumbled mmm.. that's an interesting collar on that nude color top. That's what happens when one hasn't had coffee...lol

Lovely knit top and white capris is the perfect match for it.

All that lying around summering I've been doing. ;)

ADORABLE top. Is this a sunshine? Ok, did I mention I"m tired? But I really want that top. I'm off to fabric.com to see if Jules bought all 40 yards yet.

Thank you for each and every comment. I appreciate them all, but I have to be honest and let you know that I'm usually bad about answering questions. I hope you understand that there just isn't enough time in the day to do everything I want to do.
