It Can't Be February

Wow, February already. I was so busy in January that I hardly noticed it was here. It was 80 degrees today, so summer is on the way. I'm not ready for warm weather yet. But at least it will give me something new to sew for since I'm getting a bit overloaded on winter(ish) clothes. I also need to make or buy some weekend tops because I have extremely slim (hah!) pickin's in that area.

I don't have much new today so here's another What I Wore photo. I made this cardigan a couple of months ago and Alex "modeled" it for the blog, but I don't think I ever got a decent shot of me in it, but that's probably because I've not worn it until today. The dress is one of my Walmart $18.98 bargains and have I ever gotten my money's worth and then some from it. Dani was waiting for a treat.

As I was dressing this morning, I thought about belting the cardi but didn't pursue it any further because I was lazy. I'm glad I didn't. It looks so-so, but it feels horrible. Too bulky. I know belted cardigans are the look, but not for me, thank you.

Lest you think it's All Glamour All The Time around here (cough:cough), here's what I'm wearing right now. Old Spongebob PJ pants and an even older football tee shirt. Chili's turn to stare me down.

The pants are just a little too big, don't you think?

I have an interview for another job scheduled for Tuesday morning, so now I've got to decide what to wear to that. I want the job I have and I'm reasonably certain I'm going to get it, but it doesn't hurt to increase my options. I don't have any suits or even any jackets that fit for mix/match but I'm sure I can put together something appropriate even sans jacket. No sooner than I found out about the interview day/time then I was handed a ton of stuff for a new project for next week, so I'm already thinking I need to see if I can reschedule that interview for later next week when I have more of the project behind me. I'll think on it.

Parting Shot: Tyler's home for the next few weeks. It's a LOT bigger than it looks in this pic.

  1. I love the cardigan...I think that it looks wonderfully flattering without the belt. Good luck on getting the job that turns out to be the best job for you!

  2. I agree. Cardi looks great but not with the belt. Good luck with the job.

  3. I've been eating lunch in the atrium at work, shoes off, feet up on another chair, sleeveless top, jacket off, etc. It's hard to believe it's winter (FYI for non-FL peeps: winter can be around Jan 20 to Feb 20, but it's not required).

  4. I'm not big on the belted cardigan either. It makes me look shortwaisted. Love the cardi on you.

  5. Don't reschedule an interview. Looks bad for that place, flaky, like you aren't really interested. And it's not bad to let the place you're at now know that being really hired is really, really important to you, much as you like them and everything.

Can you whip out a simple unlined jacket over the weekend? Even one layer of no-collar woven fabric would look more formal than a cardigan (not to mention be comfier in 80o weather :-)).

  6. Look at your collar bones! Other bones will be showing soon. You're doing a great job on your diet and good luck which ever way you decide career wise.

  7. I like your cute cardigan without the belt, too. It is nice to have options, good luck with the projects at work, the interview and deciding what to wear.

  8. What about the belt *under* the cardi?

Good luck on the job hunt!

  9. I second the "don't reschedule your interview" - you are probably due a dental visit on that morning.

Not sure about letting the current job know about the other interview - pro/con list needed here. I'd be curious to know whether you let your current job know about other interviews and job hunting.

Does it signal to the first that you are still looking and haven't found the perfect job? or does it stand them on their toes that you are an amazing employee?

  10. Great cardi. It gives you a longer line without the belt, but maybe try a thinner belt if you love this look. You are too funny in your pjs.
Good luck with your career choices. Avoid rescheduling the interview if you can.

  11. The place you are temping for may really want you permanently, but that doesn't mean they will be able to convice the powers-that-be to add a permanent position. You need to go to the scheduled interview and accept the job if it is offered.

  12. I like the cardigan better without the belt. I think cardigans are too bulky to be belted on anyone, even my 110-pound daughters.

Happy weekend! Enjoy the Super Bowl!

  13. I like the cardi with belt but how things wear and how they feel are often very different things. Good luck on the interview! I am sure you will look fabulous and knock their socks off.

  14. You are looking so great! Congrats on all the hard work transforming yourself. It must be so much fun to sew for a body that looks better in everything! Despite the belts. I'm the same way. If I can wear them way up under my boobs in an empire look, I can sometimes get away with it, and I'm exceptionally tall.

Thank you for each and every comment. I appreciate them all, but I have to be honest and let you know that I'm usually bad about answering questions. I hope you understand that there just isn't enough time in the day to do everything I want to do.
