At the last large corp I worked at I was one of the fire captains, which meant we devised ways of making lists (and keeping them current) so that we could take roll once everyone exited the building. The beverages were a nice touch. No point in losing anyone while they're waiting for the all clear.

We finally got some rain here in central NC. Apparently, there was a little "rushing" in the back yard, since all the grass is flattened. Luckily, it drained very quickly. It's right by my "walk out" basement sewing room, so I worry sometimes. I'm actually meeting with the insurance agent in a few weeks and I'm going to pose some "hobby property" questions to him. Most expensive room in the house, since computers got cheaper... :-)meredithphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17683287411020125224noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20350253.post-1881886437982843382011-09-23T11:36:59.846-04:002011-09-23T11:36:59.846-04:00What a cute pic of your son, such a happy smile. ...What a cute pic of your son, such a happy smile. We get that terrible flooding down here after about 5 minutes of that heavy rain. We never let her forget it.
And I've only been here a month or so but it is unbelievable how quickly the streets fill with water. Whole lanes disappear!laurahttp://sewatsea.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20350253.post-85374486986981070852011-09-23T07:57:32.363-04:002011-09-23T07:57:32.363-04:00Look on the bright side. Not sure if you know what feed sacks are, but she would take feed sacks and make her slips. They would last forever. We grew up hearing her say. " Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without." Still good words to live by.

I enjoy reading your blog.Weshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12017849367300678767noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20350253.post-74016250859624484562011-09-22T21:09:50.820-04:002011-09-22T21:09:50.820-04:00What an excitement filled day!

I grew up sewing all my clothes so the thought of actually trying on clothes in a store totally creeps me out. Its so nice to be able to check them out at home on your own time.becki-chttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02469536334449247839noreply@blogger.com
