What a fabulous interpretation of the dress - in fact, if I didn't know better I'd say you bought it. Lovely dress, it will be perfect for hot Florida days. g
Very nice dress. I would have never looked twice at this pattern, but I like your version. I really like the changes you made to copy the inspiration dress.
This is a fantastic knock off and looks like it fits perfectly. I would not have thought of using red buttons but they really make the dress - I must do more snoop shopping!
Too cute! When I saw the photo I remembered having seen your inspiration dress somewhere. In the review you jogged my memory--MYSHAPE. Yours is a great interpretation!
I couldn't find an email address for you on your site, though maybe I wasn't looking hard enough.
I have a question about this dress and I wondered if you could help me. I have been sewing for a few years now but am still very, very new at it. I looked at Pattern Review and saw someone made this dress out of a non-knit, so I thought maybe I could, too (I'm scared of them). Anyway, all seemed to be going well until I got to the back neck band. It's way too short to fit the length of the back neckline. The pattern doesn't say to ease it, and I don't think that'd make sense anyway, but I traced the pattern piece exactly and I cut the right size...It just doesn't fit. The band is about three inches smaller than the dress. Is there a way to fix it? Is it because I'm not using a knit? Can I just make the band three inches longer? Everything else matches up exactly, just not the back neck band.
Anyway, I'd appreciate it if you had any suggestions. You can email me at anniehuddleston@gmail.com, so I don't hijack your comments any more. Maybe I should have posted this in Pattern Review. I'm sorry.
p.s. I've been reading your blog for forever. I really enjoy it! Especially since I'm from the same general area (north of Tampa). :)
Thank you for each and every comment. I appreciate them all, but I have to be honest and let you know that I'm usually bad about answering questions. I hope you understand that there just isn't enough time in the day to do everything I want to do.
