Boo on the Flu

I wish I could say I've finished my mom's table runner or that I've been sewing at all. But this guy looks like how I feel and it's been all I can do to drag myself to work in the morning and get the daily must-do's done. Then I drag myself back to bed … after a stop at the Dayquil/Nyquil bottles.

Am I whining? YES! Do I want pity? YES! You try being sick in a house with 3 (cave)men and you'd be sucking up for some sick pity too. ;-) I even had to drag out the crock pot and make my own turkey soup from the Christmas Day turkey leftovers today. Wahhhh. But it felt so nice and warm going down my sore throat it was (almost) worth having to do it myself.

I hope I'm better by the time 2010 rolls in so I can take good advantage of my days off. If not, toast the bubbly for me, will you?

  1. Oh, dear!
Sorry you got hit with the bug.
Does anyone else in the house have it? Or just the hard-working mom?
Get well soon. Wish I lived closer so I could send you some soup!

  2. Oh that sucks!! You must have upset the sewing gods by selfishly sewing for yourself before Christmas. ;) You have plenty of pity from me, but sorry, no hugs. I don't want to catch it. I have my limits you know. :)

Get well soon!! And order those men to look after you.

  6. Oh dear, so sorry.I do live within an hour or so - but I accidentally let my license expire (Christmas birthdays can get hectic) and can't renew until Monday - blah - so I can't even drive to you. Take care - it can turn nasty fast.

  7. Oh no! I hope you feel better really fast. I felt horrid for 3 weeks and puny for 2 more. The sore throat was AWFUL. I wish I was near too, and I'd bring you some yummy soup!

  8. Ditto to what Angie A says. I have had this crud off and on for a month. I hope yours is a shorter version. I can't recommend medical care as a shot and two rounds of medicine didn't help at all. Cavemen for nurses? -you seriously deserve the affection to be poured out from your many blog fans. Hope you get better fast. mssewcrazy

  10. I would say it would serve the "cavemen" right by having you go through the silverware drawer and licking all the utensils so THEY get it, but with your luck you would be well by then so you would have to take care of THEM! I don't think the sewing machines would drown out the whining!
Sorry you are sick--i hope you get over it soon!

  15. I'm right there with you Debbie. Yesterday was the first day since Saturday that I've been out of bed/off the couch and lo and behold, I think I've over done it! Back to bed with me and here's to hoping we're both better soon!

  16. Hope you are up and at 'em very soon. I've had a very bad cold that seems to get better only to come right back since Thanksgiving. Ugh!!!

  17. Oh dear, you poor thing. :( Being sick is miserable and I always feel really sorry for myself that I live alone and have to go to the store myself for soup. Having able bodied people there who could do it but won't would be much worse! I hope you feel better soon and that your soup has magical healing properties for you and tastes like shame to the men of the house (as in Like Water For Chocolate).

  23. Soooo sorry you are sick. Have you neglected your sons' training for future life?! They are there to serve their female queen (you, in this case). Their future partners will thank you! Get well soon, and Happy New Year!

Thank you for each and every comment. I appreciate them all, but I have to be honest and let you know that I'm usually bad about answering questions. I hope you understand that there just isn't enough time in the day to do everything I want to do.
