Because I know you all love crappy dirty mirror pics just as much as I do, I present …
What I wore yesterday to run errands around town. It dresses down pretty nicely too. I think I *have* to make more of these and soon. I can see me living in this and the scoop style all summer long. Would 10 from the same pattern be too much? ;-)
What I'm wearing today to run a couple more errands and then laze around the sewing room, where I might even be inclined to vacuum the floor in there. Maybe.
On a whim, I dug these out of the back of my closet to try on — thinking they wouldn't fit anymore and I'd be putting them in the donate pile and two less things to pack. I made these in 2006 — where did the time go?? The joke was on me since they do fit. I wonder how much wear I've wasted letting them collect dust. And, yes, I know these are some crazy capris with big cocktails and garnishes all over them, but it's Florida and we all dress in crazy stuff here, right? I'm not worried. I'll fit right in at Walmart today. Hah.
The dress is really cute...yes, you should make more!
ReplyDeleteThe world is supposed to end today. I say forget the vaccume and have some fun instead! :D
ReplyDeleteYes more dresses!! So pretty :)
ReplyDeleteAshley x
Who are you kidding, you'll probably be better dressed than 90% of the walmart shoppers! super cute capris. i've been wanting to get a pair made up for summertime, should it ever choose to arrive in the Pacific Northwest!
ReplyDeleteDid you make the blouse too?
ReplyDeleteHurray for you! It looks great.
ReplyDeleteI love dirty mirror pics.
You can never have too much of something you love.
And tina is right, skip the vacuuming!!
Ursula, Yes I made the blouse too. It's Burda WOF 07/2006 #109 and I'm pretty sure I blogged about it in progress but I'm too lazy to search for it.
ReplyDeleteHaha Tina. Good point.
ReplyDeleteDust can be very flattering on a mirror. I keep mine thoroughly coated.
ReplyDeleteAnd I look fabulous! ;)
ReplyDeleteJust a little blurry around the edges...
ReplyDeleteGreat fit, it looks great on you. The other outfit is really cute, too.
ReplyDeleteWhy vacuum? Just have more fun sewing. :)
Your dress looks great on you so yes it is definitely ok to make more with the same pattern :))
ReplyDeleteI like the capri outfit too.
That's a Beall's outfit, not a walmart outfit, and you know it!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I bought the dress pattern today.
ReplyDeleteIf you make 10 out 10 different colors and patterns believe me no one will notice the difference...so I say go for it! You will look wonderful and be comfortable and confident!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely, make more of that dress. Change it up and make it a TNT! Your capri outfit is cute, and isn't casual summer clothing supposed to be fun?
ReplyDeleteYep, ten of these definitely isn't enough. You look fabulous even in the crappy mirror shot. :) What a fabulous pattern!
ReplyDeleteLooking good! and half the reason I moved to Florida was so I can wear large-scale florals year round!
ReplyDeleteYour dress looks great on you, but what is most telling is the smile on your face when you took the picture. If it looks this good & makes you feel this good, then I say make another half dozen or so. I would say 10 but for me sewing boredom sets in around #5 or so. Besides you're such a great seamstress you wouldn't want to deny all your loyal followers the vicarious pleasure of experiencing a new sewing adventure, would you?
ReplyDeleteThe dress looks terrific - surely 10 wouldn't be enough for living in such a warm climate? ;)
ReplyDeleteYou bought the pattern after I did, and have already made two. On the other hand, I'm glad to see this with sleeves -- I'm thinking about doing one with now, since I prefer long sleeves most of the time.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you didn't spend time vacuuming.
Love the dress, which pattern did you use. And yes, you should make more :-)
