McCall's 6397: Nearly Done Sneak Peak
I'll be back after I've had some time to hem it, like it again, and become camera-ready. There's a major goof with the pattern, and I'm over it now even though it was impossible to fix post-cutting, but it will be a lesson to muslin the actual view I plan to make. Stoooopid McCall's.

Thank you for each and every comment. I appreciate them all, but I have to be honest and let you know that I'm usually bad about answering questions. I hope you understand that there just isn't enough time in the day to do everything I want to do.

Debbie, I really like how this fits in the back. Of course now I want to hear about the pattern and it's issues.
ReplyDeleteWow, I love the fabric; gorgeous!! Every time I read about summer sewing I wish it wasn't winter here.

Wow, this looks totally great! Hemless and all :-). Do tell about the pattern difficulties, that one sounds so ..sneaky. But clearly your muslin was totally worthwhile, and your weekend so productive :-)..
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame about the pattern difficulties because the shape and fit are looking very good!
ReplyDeleteLooking good so far. It looks nicely fitted.
ReplyDeleteCute print, and nice fitting.. cool and breezy for summer.
ReplyDeleteI don't envy you the stress involved in making it-- but it is looking great. I love that print! And it is really showing off your curves. :)
ReplyDeleteI am so liking this, color and all!!!
ReplyDeleteLooking good!
ReplyDeleteO.K. whatever the goof is that McCalls made.... call them on it! Really! I had a pair of quick shorts to make for my daughter b/4 she went off to girls camp (for our church). She was going to make them and ran outta time (she was in Jr. High at the time. Anyway, sure glad that it was me who was making them... it was the worst pattern I have ever come across... I finally just made it up to be able to get them done. I contacted McCall's and told them about it... they then asked for any suggestions I might have to correct the pattern... and then sent me a coupon via snail mail for any pattern that I wanted for free!!! Yep, it's well worth the effort to tell them the problem. They want to keep your business!
ReplyDeleteHi, I really enjoy seeing what you sew. You are very talented.
ReplyDeleteAbout the pattern problem. I too had this happen and like Jean C. I called the company about the problem and was given a coupon for a free pattern.
