Rough patch
I'm sorry I left everything hanging but my life is a disaster right now.
The company I worked for went out of business suddenly, which means I don't have a job and they owe me a month's pay. My husband and I are separating, and I have to pack up and move somewhere in the next couple of months and find a job.
I don't know when there will be sewing in this spot again. Or happiness.

ReplyDeleteOh, Debbie, I'm so sorry. I know just how hard this is as I went through it a few years ago after 25 years of marriage. Things seem bleak right now but, I promise, it does get better. When one door closes, another opens. It's just the hallway that's hell. xoxo Gigi

ReplyDeleteI'm so so sorry to hear about all that mess. Life is not fair, not one bit. I know things will get better, I just wish it would happen as suddenly as the bad stuff happens. Hang in there.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry. Take care of yourself, and do what you gotta do. You are such a strong, loving and amazing woman from what I read here, and I know you'll come through this darkness stronger than ever.
ReplyDeleteSo much to deal with at once. Hope you can find some time to sew... it is the least expensive therapy there is! All the best to you.
ReplyDeleteDebbie you have been such an inspiration to me and have got me sewing again after many years. I am so sad you are having such a horrible time, I was so shocked when I read your post I had to re-read it several times to take it in. I had a 'feeling' something was wrong when you hadn't posted for a while. Sometimes life sucks!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry. My thoughts and prayers will be with you. Bless you!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry you are having such a rough time. My thoughts will be with you. Keep your chin up and tomorrow will be another day. Good things will come your way soon I promise. Sometimes we can't understand why things happen, but God will be with you and will help you thru.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that - wishing you the bestest and sending a hug your way. I checked out your bags - of yours was self-drafted, you should pattern that and pdf sell it on etsy, it's wonderful.
ReplyDeleteDebbie, I'm so sorry about all this and wish you strength. You'll get through it for sure!
ReplyDeleteHang in there! I hope things get easier for you soon. We're all out here thinking of you.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear you are going through such a rough time. I'll be sending good thought and prayers up for you.
ReplyDeleteOh I'm so sorry to hear that all this happening at once, one at a time is hard enough. Take one step at a time and look after yourself. Thinking of you.
ReplyDeleteI hope that you receive some comfort from the outpouring of good wishes here on your blog. I am sad with you about the losses you are experiencing, but I suspect that, with your intelligence, creativity, and sense of humor, there is no challenge you cannot rise to.
ReplyDeleteLove and support from NYC,
M.
I recently began reading your blog and I have been impressed with your mastery and generosity. I am so sorry about this turn in your life. It seems so unjust. I hope you find people around you to support you, and that you somehow find strength you've never known you have. I wish you good luck and, after a time, smooth sailing. Don't forget to negotiate for what you need as your household breaks up. Make sure to get good legal representation.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I have no words of wisdom. But, I am terribly terribly sorry you are going through this. I wish you the best and give you my good thoughts and earnest prayers.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear about all these painful problems. I hope you land on your feet very soon.
ReplyDeleteKeep sewing, to give you that satisfaction you need in completing something. Update your resume and get back out there when you've had a moment to catch your breath, take stock of yourself and your situation.
ReplyDeleteHappiness will return; heal first and focus on just the immediate.
With hope and good thoughts sent your way,
A sister sewer, Jen
P.S. I wish I had commented a couple of months ago when I first discovered your blog. You're a wonderful, talented gal.
So sorry, Debbie. This is a whole bunch to bear at once. I wish you the best and brightest future, Phoenix-style! You can do it :)
ReplyDeleteOh Debbie, I am so sorry for what you are going through right now. Too much to bear all at once, but the sun will shine again for you. I love reading your blog and can sense you are a VERY strong lady who will get through this terrible time. Sending good thoughts your way x
ReplyDeleteBless you, that's a bit more than anyone should have to bear. I'll pray for you. I'll look forward to posts (about anything, sewing or not, as I enjoy your sense of humor). Having experienced a layoff two weeks after a separation that ended in divorce, I know some of what you're feeling. It's tough. I'm betting you're tougher, though. And happiness.....I pray you'll get there.
ReplyDeleteDear Debbie...I am so very sorry for your troubles..please know you are in my thoughts and prayers..there WILL be brighter days ahead for you...your spirit will shine through again.
ReplyDeleteMy heart goes out to you Debbie. I'm thinking about you and praying for good things to come your way.

So, so sorry. :(
O Debbie,
ReplyDeleteI am so very sorry for your pain. Try to see this experience not as an ending - but as a New Beginning .
Looks like you have a lot of friends to help give you moral support. I truly believe something better is coming.
hugs
Debbie - I am so sorry to hear about all of this and it is way more than a rough patch. Like Gigi says "the hallway is hell" but you will get through. After 34 years, I divorced just over a year ago so I speak from experience. You will find, like I did, that you have amazing friends and family to help get you through. Let them!!!! You are tougher than you think.
ReplyDeletePeggy
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Take it one step at a time.
ReplyDeleteOh Debbie, I'm so sorry for all that you are going through. I hope all works out for the best for you when all is settled. I so enjoy reading your posts. You are such a kind and giving spirit. You've given so much to the sewing community. You deserve good things. I hope they come your way.
ReplyDeleteDebbie, I'm so sorry to hear of this rough patch you're going through. Sending lots of positive vibes your way for better times ahead. Take care.
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie, you don't know me and I haven't posted here before. I have only discovered sewing blogs a few short months ago but I have really appreciated all the sewing wisdom you have shared so freely with people all over the world. From the bottom of my heart I wish you well through this very difficult time in your life.
ReplyDeleteDebbie, you are in my thoughts. You're a hard worker, that will stand you in good stead.
ReplyDeleteDebbie, I don't know you well other than following your blog just recently, but I will whole-heartedly send a prayer out for you.
ReplyDeletePraying for some peace in the midst of the storm for you. Take good care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteI'm truly sorry to hear you are going through this! Take care of yourself and check in now and then and let us know how you are doing.
ReplyDeleteDebbie,
ReplyDeleteSo very sorry to hear about what is going on. I found out my first husband was going to divorce the same week I became unemployed. I have all the sympathy in the world for you.
JEF from PR
Hearing of your rough patch makes me really sad. You are absolutely wonder woman so you will emerge as perfection and even stronger although the hall way is indeed hell as others have noted. I cried so much and stayed away from home overnight when one daughter was pregnant and her not so dh was found having a secret life that I didn't sew anything for a couple of years just tried to be there for her throughout. When there is a family crisis for once sewing is on the back burner. My daughter found an even better life was waiting at the end of the hallway from hell so keep the faith, you will also. We are all pulling for you. I think you should publish your blog and tutorials. I want to buy the first autographed copy. You have made me want to sew again -for me instead of everyone else like I used to do. Please let us hear from you when you can sewing or not as we all feel like we are your friends. mssewcrazy
ReplyDeleteI'm so, so sorry to hear of your troubles. I will send you positive thoughts and prayers. Just remember all of us out here are pulling for you!
ReplyDeleteLike so many others, my heart goes out to you for having several difficult things happen at once. And I agree that you are strong, intelligent, creative, and caring and you will survive and prosper. As a dog lover, you certainly know: Poop happens! Please remember to take good care of yourself. Do what you need to do: blog whenever you feel like it, we'll be here when you get back!
ReplyDeleteDebbie I am really sad to hear about your situation. Not a day goes by that I don't read your blog. You have inspired so many of us in more ways then you realize.
ReplyDeleteMy prayers are with you. Things will get better . Somehow everything always works out.
We are all here for you.
Debbie, You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Sometimes life is so unsettling that the creative juices just dry up. I pray the dry season will be short.

Oh Debbie - I'm so very sorry. If there is anything I can do.... g
ReplyDeleteI, too, had to read this a couple of times to make sure I read it right. I am very sad at this news and am sending positive thoughts your way. As evidenced by all the comments, there are a lot of people out "here" who care about you, so please check in once in awhile so we know you are doing ok.
ReplyDelete~Bev
wow. I had been wondering at your lack of posting. Difficult to do when the world gangs up on you.
ReplyDeletePositive prayers winging their way to you.
Hi, this is my first time commenting, although I have enjoyed your posts for awhile, and my heart goes out to you.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to hear that! I will keep you in my thoughts! Everything will work out for the best. Keep your chin up. :)
ReplyDeleteMy heart goes out to you. Please know that there are a lot of people rooting for you and hoping that life gets a little less "rough" very quickly for you and those you love.
ReplyDeleteYou are a bright light in the sewing world. Sending positive thoughts to help you through this time. Hugs, Sue
Debbie;
ReplyDeleteI am so sad for you. Please know that there are a whole lot of sewers out here rooting for you.
You are an incredibly strong, feisty, talented and intelligent woman and I think you will come out of all of this renewed.
Mermie
Debbie, I am so sorry about all of this. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
ReplyDeleteThis is so sad to hear. I went through a "double whammy" myself 6 months ago. I didn't feel like sewing either. I don't know your situation so I will pray that whatever is best for you, be it reconciliation or divorce, is what happens. I hope that like many of us commenters, new and better things await you. I have been a fan of yours since I joined pr in '03. Needless to say, your words have entertained, educated and comforted me over the years. I will keep you in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteHugs, and positive energy your way.
ReplyDeleteDebbie - not sure if you're reading all the comments and get to little ol' me down here, but I've still been following you, even though I've had a rough time of it for the last year and a half. Sometimes it seems like it never ends and that the future is so bleak. I haven't sewn a stitch in a year. What can I say that hasn't already been said so well here? My heart goes out to you, even though we've never met. I've admired you and you've inspired me in so many, many ways. Cyber hugs to you and I know you are strong and will make it through this one way or another.
ReplyDeleteClaire - (formerly Little Miss Sew N Sew)
My heart hurts for you. You'll be in my prayers...please know that you are much loved...
ReplyDeleteOh, Debbie, no one should have to go through these things much less at the same time. Please know that I am thinking of you and sending you strength and love.
ReplyDeleteOH, honey, I am so sorry. I wish there was something I could do for you.
ReplyDeleteDebbie - sending you hugs, and prayers. You are a strong person and while right now it's s$%# there will be sewing again one day. Post every now and again even if you aren't sewing, ok.
ReplyDeleteBlast! Peace to you in this horrid time.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm so sorry to hear this. Sending you lots of positive thoughts, best wishes, and hugs.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing that can't be taken from you is your spirit. Hope you are feeling better soon.
ReplyDeleteComing out of lurkdom to send you happy thoughts. I am so sorry!
ReplyDeleteI'm also coming out of lurkdom to say I'm so sorry to read you're going through rough times! Here's a virtual *hug* and positive thoughts for you...
ReplyDeleteHaving posted a comment on your blog for years, but reading it religiously, I am really sorry to hear about your troubles. Like so many people before me, I wish you all the best for this hard time and hope you get through it to come out stronger at the end.
ReplyDeleteSounds like the utter pits. The good news is.. things can only get better, right??
ReplyDeleteIf I were you, I'd concentrate on getting a job first. You'll be in much better position to find another place then, and you may be able to get something which will minimize your commute. The jerk can leave you the place for a couple more months, it won't kill him. Meanwhile though, do pack up the bulk of the stuff you want so that you don't have to do it while you're freshly employed. And get rid of whatever you think you can live without, you'll end up with a bit more cash and/or a bit more room. Toss his stuff out on the front lawn, you'll feel better :-).
Don't overlook the role of sewing in lowering stress though (and don't worry about blogging). Do you have 2 absolutely smashing interview outfits? I always manage one, and get a bit stuck for the inevitable second interview :-). Someone's always missing in the first round, and actually the second round often involves more important people, so it's important not to overlook it. If you tend to gain or lose weight in stressful situations, think of having something fabulous ready in a size in that direction, just in case, so you don't go flogging yourself when you should be rehearsing for a golden opportunity.
Also, a little TNT knit top tossed out here and there can not only be soothing but make you feel accomplished without taking up either too much time or too much gear, and accomplished is a good feeling when you're out selling yourself. When the shit hits the fan like this, it's always good to nurture your mental health in whatever small ways you know work for you.
Finally, let me repeat some good advice my sister once gave me when I was literally crying in my soup - you can only work one job at a time. Fifty rejections don't count if you get a single yes from a place that'll make you happy and appreciate you. (Yes, I did call back the place I wanted most the next day and they hired me, but even without the Disney ending it's still good advice :-)).
Oh I am so sorry. Lifting up a prayer for you.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear all that, Debbie. You are in my thoughts. Time heals all. ::hugs::
ReplyDeleteReading your blog has been an entertaining and informative part of my life for years now and so, although I haven't posted before and you don't know me, I am deeply saddened that you are facing such turbulence in your life. I'm praying that you find the silver lining in your dark cloud soon. Be very kind to yourself and take care of your health first.
ReplyDeleteDebbie...what a sad note. You have always been such an upbeat person..I just can't imagine how you must be feeling.I know you will be fine in the end as you are a strong woman who has raised strong, admirable sons and spoiled puppies!!I hope the pups...or at least one is going with you. boy, life can really throw stuff at you..take care of yourself and don't lose touch with your sewing friends.
ReplyDeleteFran G
I'm sorry to hear you're having such a rough time. Take all the time you need for yourself -- we'll all be here for you.
ReplyDeleteDebbie, reading your blog has been a wonderful part of my life for the past couple of years and I am truly sorry to hear of your troubles. I admire you greatly and I wish you strength and stamina as you navigate these challenging times.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear of your troubles. Sending hugs from Oz.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry. Hope things turn around for you quickly.
ReplyDeleteDebbie, hugs and prayers your way.
ReplyDelete{{{hugs}}} Your life isn't a disaster - only this small rough patch of it. You have family that loves you and amazing abilities in lots of areas. Just do a day at a time and you will come through to the other side stronger and better - and there will be many happy days again.
ReplyDeleteOMG! Debbie, it seems that when it rains on us, it pours. I can assure you that there will be happiness again. It may seem a long way away, but it will come. Take comfort in the love of and from your wonderful sons. We will all be thinking of you and keepin you in our prayers.
ReplyDeleteDebbie,
ReplyDeleteI'm across the state in Deltona. If you need anything at all, please let me know. I'm not just saying that, even if all you need is a shoulder or an ear.
Not sure where you are headed, but there are a lot of decent rental homes here.
Mel (Maryellen)
I'm so sorry to hear this. Best wishes, in my thoughts.
ReplyDeleteLike so many people here, I feel like I know you and I so admire your spirit, attitude, and generosity in sharing your skills.
ReplyDeleteSometimes when we go through things like this we forget who we are, and what we are worth. If you have, I hope you remember soon, and that it helps you hold your head up and move forward.
I look forward to hearing from you, and am thinking of you.
HUGS
ReplyDeleteDebbie,
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry that you're going through a bad time right now. Just remember, tough times DON'T last always.
Peace & Love,
CarlaF-in Atlanta
Oh Debbie, I am so, so sorry. Each one of the things you are facing are hard enough on their own, but stacked, it's a heck of a whack. You have lots of grieving ahead and I'm sending you strength vibes cause you are going to need them.
ReplyDeleteYou have also been a huge inspiration to me in my approach to sewing and I will miss your posts as you get thru these life hurdles.
Be well
oh fuck. i know you are a strong woman, but man, talk about rough. :(
ReplyDeletei think of you often, and hope this passes quickly. that which doesn't kill us only makes us stronger, right? (then i always think to myself, "but i don't really wanna be stronger").
Oh, Debbie
ReplyDeleteNot fair, not fair, not fair.
Whatever the outcome, wishing you the best.
Vicky F
I'm so sorry. My thoughts will be with you during this hard time. *hugs*
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry. I hope that you will get a new job and find a place to live before too much time passes by. I will be thinking about you. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteThinking good thoughts for you as you face an entire adulthood of challenges at once.
ReplyDeleteI hardly ever comment, so I don't think you'll recognize my name, but I just had to comment on this. I wish you well during this time and hope you will come out the other side stronger and happier for the journey. I will be thinking of you.
ReplyDeleteOh Debbie -- I'm so sorry to hear this!!!! {{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}}}

Debbie, I have been a lurker, reading and enjoying your blog, but I don't think I've ever commented. But I wanted to say how sorry I am that you have so much to deal with, all at once. You seem like such a generous and caring person. I truly hope that things will soon be much, much better for you.
ReplyDeleteI'm very sorry to hear of the turmoil in your life. My thoughts and best wishes are with you.
ReplyDeleteOh Debbie, I'm so so sorry you are having such rough times right now. I wish I could help, but all I can do is wish you well, tell you you're a very strong person and you'll get through this, and give you a "virtual" hug.
ReplyDeleteWow, Debbie, you are not kidding when you call this a "rough patch." I'm so sorry that everything bad has happened all at once. I am hoping that things improve for you soon.
ReplyDeleteAnother regular reader and lurker here, who is sending you positive thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeleteYour blog has been a pleasure, and your have been a such a positive force in the sewing world. You've got a lot of us cheering you on, which I hope helps a little bit in such a tough time.
Mandolin82
I am a reader of your blog too, I am so sorry for your hard times. Good luck on your job search, I hope things turn around quickly for you...
ReplyDelete~Jamie
Oh, Debbie--I am one of your regular readers, but have never commented. Your "Rough Patch" tugged at me, and I am sooo sorry. It really sucks to have all this happen at once. I have been in your shoes, and the best thing I found was to open myself up to as much support as possible from family and friends. I tended to want to shut everyone out, but felt so much better when I let down the barriers. If all of these comments are any indication, you have a lot of love and admiration out there. Soak it up, embrace it, and your soul will become stronger. God Bless . . .
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry. Sending cyber-hugs and sympathy your way.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear your news. went thru similar experience in my first marriage & job, can empathize. better things will come even though it doesn't feel like it right now.
ReplyDeletechloeE
Sending positive vibes and cyber hugs
ReplyDeleteI am so, so sorry these things are happening in your life. I'm certain it is overwhelming. I read your blog faithfully and always enjoyed your posts on PR. Someone with as much talent as you have will make an excellent employee.
ReplyDeleteWishing you well with my prayers!
Martha Hughes
I'm sending you positive energy from Nova Scotia. You and your blog have been very special to me.
ReplyDeleteThere are better days ahead.
Hugs, Aileen
Wow. That's just plain awful. Hang in there. Putting out good thoughts to the universe for you.
ReplyDeleteOh dear. Uncertainty is so very upsetting and frightening. Hang in there and take care of yourself. You have an army of supporters wishing you well, even those of us who usually just lurk.
ReplyDeleteThis is the second time I've commented on your blog (well, any blog), although I've enjoyed following your blog for a few years now. I agree with other commenters...you are a talented, creative, generous person with a great sense of humor and much pride and love for your sons. And, as was said, poop happens. Many of us have been in that well of trouble, some fallen deeper than others. But know that you also will survive, though bad times never seem to pass quickly enough.
ReplyDeleteFirst be sure to take care of your health, you don't need to add that to your problems. Then do see a lawyer to see what your options are. It doesn't mean you have to go into any particular direction, just be able to make informed decisions. Also, some sewing does sound like good therapy. Satisfaction with something well done (bonus- a new item for work). Even if it turns out to be a wadder, you can take out your agressions on it, stomp it even.
Keep your faith in God on one side of you and your friends and caring acquaintances on the other. Please try to blog once in a while, even just a sentence, so we can send you hugs and encouragement when needed.
Remember - We are stronger than we know.
Joy in Palmland
Oh, Debbie, how awful. :( I'm just heartbroken for you. I hope everything smooths out in a few months. Keep your hands busy; that always helps me during tough times. **hugs**.
ReplyDeleteOh $%^&*. It sounds quite terrifying. Good luck with all the changes.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you during this rough time. You didn't get hit with one thing but two. Keep strong and you will win.
ReplyDeleteOMG... I'm so sorry!!! My thoughts are with you in this awful trying time.
ReplyDeleteOh Debbie, what awful news all the way around. I hope things start to look up for you soon.
ReplyDeleteI'm sending you a hug from OK, where the couch is always available (if you can stand the humid summer!)
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry. I send you positive thoughts and a virtual hug.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry. I send you positive thoughts and a virtual hug.
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie. I am a long-time lurker on your blog and have enjoyed all the wisdom you have shared here and on PR (and not just sewing wisdom).
ReplyDeleteI first saw your post yesterday and just had to return today to comment. I have tears in my eyes right now because my heart is going out to you. I feel for you just as I would any of my girlfriends who are going through tough times. Life can be such a strange place, and it does seem to all pile up at once sometimes.
My impression of you from reading your blog and your posts on PR is that you are a courageous and resilient person. You don't strike me as someone who would stay down too long without coming up with a plan to move forward and acting on it.
There are so many people here who have commented and think very highly of you and truly want the very best for you. Please count me in that list.
Hang in there! Good times will come again. You'll sew and you'll feel happy again. Call your son and your friends and let them shower you with love.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if it helps or not but hopefully knowing there are so many of us out here wishing you well and cheering you on will ease the process of change. I'm sorry things are so hard for you right now, with so many things happening all at once. I went through something similar and I spent a lot of time crying with friends - which helped a lot. And I did survive it and am better, stronger and happier in the long run. This too shall pass; good luck!
ReplyDeleteWow! It never rains but it pours. I'm sorry you're getting clobbered by three huge things at the same time. It's going to be difficult, but with meditation and prayer, you will get thru it just fine. I always try to look at tough times as learning opportunities, but sometimes it's really difficult to do!

Debbie, I mostly lurk and hardly ever comment. My heart is heavy for you. I know that you live about an hour north of me. The company that I work for may be hiring. I don't know if relocating that far away is an option for you but I would love to chat with you if you are interested.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear this! My thoughts are with you!

Holy crap! This truly sucks! I hope this all works out for you soon. Better days, my girl, better days...here's hoping all the best for you.
ReplyDeleteOh Debbie!!!! My heart hurts for you. As someone who has just gone through some of that nastiness, you are very much in my thoughts. Email if you want to vent or just cry!! Too bad we aren't closer geographically. :( Hang in there, it's a long, dirty road. :(

I am so sorry. I know you will get through this, and you'll be a stronger woman when you get to the finish line. Sending prayers your way.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear you are going through all this at the moment, either one is stressful enough on its own and the two together must be tough. But it will get better, hang in there and just drop in and say hello when you feel up to it. x
ReplyDeleteOh, my, that really is a rough patch. Hang in there & take care!
ReplyDeleteThinking of you Debbie. Thanks for all your blogs. I am so sorry to hear about your troubles. When you get space, sew some nice easy things just for you and take pleasure in what your hands have made.
ReplyDeleteI'm really sorry to hear that so much has gone wrong all at the same time. I'll be thinking of you and hoping things start to feel and look better soon. Remember to take care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry you have to go through all this. Hopefully all these words of comfort will help you get through these tough times, reaching out and sharing with all of us was a brave thing to do. And maybe a little sewing would bring a bit of solace. I will be thinking of you.
ReplyDeleteI wish you all the best and, as my mom always says: "nothing is ever so bad that it isn´t good for something!" :-)
ReplyDeleteDear Debbie, I am so sorry for your troubles. I think the prayers being lifted for you will be heard. You are a dear person with more friends than you could ever know. You are my inspiration. I "try" to sew and when I have another wadder, you are the one who lifts me up with your cheerfulness and positive attitude. I "visit" you every day and as you see by all of these wonderful comments you have many, many friends who do the same and love you very much!! You and your wonderful family are in my prayers!!
ReplyDeleteEverything happens at once, it seems. This is a terrible time in your life but you are a talented, funny, and strong woman who will land on her feet. Remember, the best revenge is living well.

ReplyDeleteDebbie, that's sad news. Hang in there tough!
ReplyDeleteAnother mostly lurker posting because you need to know that many are thinking/praying for you! I have sent your helpful links numerous times at mysewingcircle.com. You have been such a blessing to the sewing community. It's wonderful to see the outpouring of love back to you at a time like this. I really liked Marie-Christine's practical advice. Sometimes it's hard to think that way when everything is crumbling around you. Please check in from time to time. It's obvious that the global sewing world cares for you, Debbie.
ReplyDeleteI am a long-time lurker and I'm so sorry for your pain. I went through a similar situation and it really does get better in time. As for jobs, why don't you apply to the sewing companies-you're so good on the machines, I bet you'd be great demonstrating or teaching. You're in my prayers.

ReplyDeleteI am praying that the Lord will open doors for you. Trust him - he will do amazing things in your life.
ReplyDeleteJust look at this outpouring of love. You have been so generous in sharing your talents and your charming & witty self, and you have been rewarded with friends you didn't know you had. I just know that you will come out the other side of this a stronger, happier person. I'm sorry for all the pain and worry you are no doubt suffering. If I could provide any material help I would, but all I have to offer is my emotional support. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteGood thoughts sent your way, good luck for good outcomes, and high hopes for comfort to find you when you need some.
ReplyDeleteWe care how you feel, so keep us posted.
Just want to let you know I am thinking of you and sending good thoughts your way. Miss your posts.
ReplyDeleteDebbie, I sure hope the rough patch passes quickly. I went through a similar situation almost a year ago. I knew I could handle the outcome but it sure would have been nice if it wouldn't have lasted for six months. You'll be in my prayers!
ReplyDeleteHaving been through the same thing in the past, my heart goes out to you. Rely on the people who care about you and there are many. It will be rough and life changing but you will make it through. I wish you the best.
ReplyDeleteWow. That sucks.

Oh wow, Debbie. I am very sorry to hear what you're facing right now. Sometimes life throws an incredible amount of crap at us all at once. Please accept hugs and prayers from another of your blogger friends. You seem to be a very strong woman and I'm sure you're going to come out on top.
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie,
ReplyDeleteJust checking back in to let you know someone is thinking about you. Take care.
IHugs, Debbie. Although things are truly crap right now, someone with your strength and intelligence is sure to flourish when this storm passes. I'll keep checking your blog looking for good news, even if it's only small things at first.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry about your difficulties, they are tragic. I will pray for you that God will give you strength in the days ahead.
ReplyDeleteTake care
Marie
Debbie, so sorry to hear you are having such a rough time right now. From reading your blog, I know you are a strong woman, and you will be ok.
ReplyDeleteWishing you good things and better times.
Debbie, how awful for you! This really sucks big time! You are such a generous, positive person...you don't deserve this at all! i am pfraying for your bad times to be short-lived.
ReplyDeleteJudyP
Debbie, you've brought such joy to so many of us through your blog. I'm sure the goodness of life will come back around to you. Virtual {{hugs}} from another lurker.

I've been a long time reader, sometime poster, and the umpteenth to offer you my sympathy. Though you've been pummeled, roll with the punches and hope for the best. I've said it a lot lately to those in the sewing world going through difficult times. But it's worked for me. Besides, you have 2 great sons to help you cross this rocky terrain.
ReplyDelete-umjudis
I hope you noticed that you called your blog entry a rough "patch" and that is what it is, a patch. Although the end of the patch is a long way off it will come!
ReplyDeleteSending you a big hug together with the almost 200 supporters who have posted messages to you so far! You are so highly regarded by the online community please keep that in mind. I am looking forward to your updates, please post bad as well as good and you will get some of the support you need from your online friends! Hugs!
Debbie It took my breath away to read this. I've been in your shoes...and I know how the whole landscape of your future has suddenly changed. The grief for not just the relationship but the house and the dreams and the children. Yours are older but it won't make it easier. I'll keep you in my prayers - I know this will be hard but you will one day feel in control again. So many people love you hold that close.

ReplyDeleteYou're such a smart, creative, resourceful woman with so many skills, and I know you will triumph over all of this. To keep this short, ditto on what all 198 commenters before me have said.
ReplyDeleteI hope knowing that so many people care about you brings you comfort. It would appear that you have a very large group of supporters who are all cheering for you. If you can't hear us, let us know. We'll cheer louder! My thoughts are with you.

I'm so sorry things suck so much right now. Hope it gets better soon. You are such an excellent sewer/ist? (what is the current term anyway), and I hope you can find some comfort/therapy in that when you are able.
