Poor Pup
Dani had her big surgery today and this is how she's feeling after being home about 20 minutes. They usually keep them overnight but I wanted her to be home with her family instead. The vet may be good, but I know we'll look after her much more carefully and lovingly.
Poor baby. She can't even walk straight right now. If it wasn't so sad, it would be funny. Hopefully by this time next week, she'll be back to her squirrel chasing, paper shredding, pillow chewing, Chili wrestling, sweet self.
Between trips to the vet today, I did trace the pattern for and cut out my FIL's pants. I still have to cut out the (previously traced) shirt, which I'll do in just a bit. Maybe I can even start sewing the outfit today. On the other hand, taking a cue from Chili and Pepper with a little nap snuggling next to Dani is sure tempting …

Thank you for each and every comment. I appreciate them all, but I have to be honest and let you know that I'm usually bad about answering questions. I hope you understand that there just isn't enough time in the day to do everything I want to do.

Hugs to Dani. Hope she will recover from this without any ill effects. Our Max sends her a big sloppy kiss.
ReplyDeletePoor baby, indeed! Ow.
ReplyDeleteI just noticed what beautiful markings she has on her head! What an adorable spot centered so perfectly! (I guess this is the first pic of her actually being still!)
Awww. Poor Dani. She looks so sweet and cuddly sitting there. Is this the surgery where she no longer will need those awesome diapers you made? I hope she feels better soon.
ReplyDeleteYep, Claire, that's the one. She's feeling much better and perkier this morning. I just gave her another pain pill (only 1/2) so we'll see how long the perky lasts.
ReplyDeleteSo sweet she is! I've never noticed that little thumbprint dot on the top of her head. Perfect little marking!
ReplyDeleteDani sure is cute - I know you are taking great care of her!
ReplyDeleteHugs to Dani, too! She will excellent TLC from you and Chili and Pepper!
ReplyDeleteHow is Miss Dani doing? I hear she was feeling a little bit better on Thursday - just watch her - don't let her be me and do too much too soon! g
ReplyDeletePoor Dani. I remember what you mean about the laugh/cry thing. Our little dog Hector (long story about that name) was spayed, she really played up the sympathy think. The day she had it done, we'd had about 4" of the loosest big feathery snowflake snow. The flakes came down in groups like highschool cliques. Anyway, I took her outside to pee, and she looked so feeble and sad trying to squat in that snow that was over her chest. So she did her thing, made 3 attempts to get up from her squat, and faceplanted into the snow and just laid there, fed up and feeling sorry for herself while I laughed until I cried. Then I took her in the house gave her special treats, carried her up anddown stairs for a few days and let her sleep in MY bed. I think she over came her disgust with me after that!
ReplyDeleteAren't these crazy little dogs worse than men for laying it on and wanting sympathy?
