Debbie, very flattering jacket! (Although I have a hard time calling anything with short sleeves a jacket, but I don't live in Florida. :) ) I was trying to work out what it was about the jacket that made it so flattering, then I saw your S-dart. That explains it!
Your hair looks really nice today too! A good hair and clothes day deserves a night out. :)
The jacket on you is very pretty. I like how you positioned the flowers in the fabric on the jacket - well done! That s-dart thing scares me though, *LOL*, probably why I like princess seams so that I can get the same results without that big ole dart! :)
Debbie, this jacket is incredibly flattering. Well done. I have the Threads article on the S Dart and was planning to try it "sometime." Now I think I need to move to the top of my list of new things to try.
I did not get to go to the Hancock's butterick sale this week but the jacket pattern was in my pattern drawer smiling at me just now(very very happy camper here)- I had forgotten I bought it at a .99 sale quite a while back. Your jacket is so nice- I would like to make one hopefully in July. I need this pattern to be a tnt-think I would make it a lot if I can get it to fit using your notes. mssewcrazy
This jacket just screams "Florida"! If only we could all wear flowers and short sleeves year round...well, maybe not; then everywhere would be the same and that would be boring...but your jacket certainly is pretty!
Debbie, I love this on you. The fabric is just beautiful, it works so well with your coloring. And thanks for showing off that ingenious dart. Putting that away for future reference.
Debbie, I love your blog, I love your clothes...you are such an inspiration! Thanks for taking the time, so we can all benefit. BTW, have you landed a job? How's the hunt going? Lorri
Thank you for each and every comment. I appreciate them all, but I have to be honest and let you know that I'm usually bad about answering questions. I hope you understand that there just isn't enough time in the day to do everything I want to do.

I love the S-dart, Debbie. The happy spring jacket/shirt is perfect for your new wardrobe. You won't be bumping into anyone else wearing that.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful top! Thanks for sharing the S-dart, it's ingenious.
ReplyDeleteDebbie, that looks great! I'm off to read the review!

ReplyDeleteThanks so much for picturing the S-dart. I've not seen that done before, but it make so very much sense!
ReplyDeleteThis is just lovely, Debbie! The fit, the beautiful fabric, everything is a hit! You will certainly be on the best dressed list wherever you work.
ReplyDeleteCongrats!

Great blouse/jacket. And that s-dart looks handy. Did you fuse interfacing to the fabric, or is that just the wrong side of the print?

ReplyDeleteYou did a wonderful job of this jacket and it looks lovely on you! How did you connect the side seams? Did you do French seams?

That's a lovely jacket. I'm really inspired by your posts to work on something nice, and flattering, for my mom.
