I Only Went In For Thread …

… and purse-making interfacings.

13 spools of thread
2 yds fusible fleece
2 yds fusible heavy Craftfuse

And the rest just fell into my cart. Yet another pattern, Threads, 5 yds of pattern tracing paper (very much like Swedish tracing paper), 2 yds of brown/white dots poly stretch charmeuse (for an as-yet undetermined blouse), 3-1/2 yds of paisley stretch moleskin (for the 1980-ish Vogue dress), and an accent button for that dress which matched so perfectly I couldn't leave it.

I *did* have a 15% off entire purchase coupon good for sale and non-sale items alike which coincidentally expired today and I did return two dresses to Walmart this morning, so that absolves me a little. Um, very little.

  1. Hehe. Isn't that the way! I hate how Joann's puts out coupons for non-sale items, then they mark *everything* down, even if it's just a little. They do it so much that it feels like a bait and switch or some sort of illegal marketing scam.

Anyway, you did quite well! Glad you are stocked up in thread and the like. :)

You've made a great start on 2012 and I wish you continued progress!

  2. But I'm betting that you get all those sewed up. You get a lot done in my opinion. And most of what you bought are essential notions that will get used up .... eventually!

  3. Don't you love how things just jump into your cart? That happens at Publix, too!

  4. Oh Debbie, that quite often happens to me too!

  5. I can appreciate how that happens!

  6. I think you need to give yourself a hug. I do the same thing when I just go shopping for thread.

  7. What a shopper! Well done, Debbie.
I am so happy for you with your weight loss journey and your work situation. Congrats.
    Best wishes...

  8. I think it was worth it just for that perfectly matching button!
    Happy New Year!

  9. Hehe! This happened last time I went in for a zip!

  10. Yeah, I had one of these days before Xmas. It's horrifying how much sewing shopping I can do in an hour :-) On the plus side, great loot!

  11. I read your post title in my reader and thought "yep, I know the feeling!" Happens to me all the time!

  12. Yep, it happens! When you "only need thread" times are those times that you find all the good stuff!

  13. I've done this twice in a week. I don't think I can get away with it again. But I have actually sewn some of the fabric into garments already, so that absolves me!

Thank you for each and every comment. I appreciate them all, but I have to be honest and let you know that I'm usually bad about answering questions. I hope you understand that there just isn't enough time in the day to do everything I want to do.
